HALO HXT2108:
Checked baggage XRD
alarm resolver

HALO knows what it sees…

  • Simple scaled version of HXT264.

The same internal X-ray components mean the HXT2108 concept system can be readily developed and manufactured.

Automated threat recognition algorithms can be re-used, expediting certification and deployment.

  • Small footprint and fast operation.

Occupying a smaller footprint to previous attempts at XRD systems means the HX2108 can be accommodated in more spaces within checked baggage halls.

Faster operation means improved throughput and more streamlined operations.

  • Simple deployment.

Installed to smaller spaces means better integration with existing systems and baggage handling systems.

False alarms within checked baggage create additional cost for the airport and generally slows the process of screening luggage automatically.

The concept HALO HXT2108 integrated threat resolution system can be simply developed from the mature HXT264 product line. This is a straight forward scaling exercise to facilitate larger baggage to be inspected, while retaining all key internal X-ray diffraction components currently used in the HXT264. Importantly, the baseline HALO automated threat recognition algorithms will be directly applicable to this larger aperture XRD screening system, reducing the typical requirement for extensive data capture for new systems.

The HXT2108 will operate as an automatic Level 2 system and re-screen alarm bags referred from any inline primary EDS (multiplexing). An onboard image registration system will validate the HXT2108 is inspecting the same alarm regions identified by the primary EDS. Information between primary CT and secondary HXT2108 will be via an Ethernet network, and use Open Architecture DICOS to pass data between them.

Our unique combination of inline X-ray diffraction system working cooperatively with existing CT systems provides an ideal solution, with minimal additional footprint to have minimal impact on current checked baggage handling configurations. This combination of CT and XRD information provides the optimal dataset from which false alarms can be significantly reduced .

The HXT2108 threat resolving system will work with any CT vendor and any baggage handling provider to enable the best concept of operations for all airports.
